Personal Assistant Orientation Class @ Options Center for Independent Living
Nov 19 @ 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

In this class learn how to assist persons with disabilities in their homes. The first part of the class is taught by Lillian Henson at Options’ Bourbonnais office from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The second part of the class is taught by Janice Stump, Certified Rehab Registered Nurse at Riverside Medical Center from 1:30 pm. to 3:30 p.m.  Class size is limited to 6 so reservations are required.  Your reservation is made by completing an application at least ten (10) days prior to the class session. A $20 deposit is required to hold your place in class which is refunded after the completion of the class.  A copy of your current driver’s license or a photo ID and social security card are also required. (The address on the driver’s license or photo ID must match the address on the application.) Criminal and Sex Offenders background checks are run on all applicants.

Please understand that taking this class does not guarantee employment as a personal assistant. Your name will be placed on the listing that is provided to persons with disabilities who are DHS customers.

Options CIL’s Board has openings from time to time so please contact us if you want to find out more about Board opportunities or if you want a Board application form.

Options’ Board meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
