As a Center for Independent Living we are dedicated to the Independent Living philosophy: that a person, regardless of his or her disability, has the potential and right to exercise self-determination. Our programs and services are all consumer-directed.
Vision Service Program
Our Vision Service Program is for individuals who are 55 years and older, living with severe visual impairments or blindness in Kankakee and/or Iroquois Counties.
Our goal is to meet your individual needs, by providing independent living aids/assistive technology, and training on the use of these items, and to collaborate with you to maximize your independence.

Personal Assistants (PAs) work for individuals with disabilities in their homes, receiving Home Services through IDHS/DRS.
Options CIL offers an orientation training to prospective personal assistants. Personal Assistants are hired by individuals with disabilities who receive home services through DHS.
